While words are my passion; food is my obsession. If I’m not eating or cooking, I’m thinking about what will be eaten next. As a little girl I was extremely fussy. I now realise that my fussiness was a symptom of good taste. Any food item can be delicious if prepared well (even the dreaded eggplant), and on the other side of that coin; any food item can be ruined by poor flavours, cooking styles and even growing and storage conditions. I now relish new food experiences, aware that there can only be one first taste of any flavour and that it should be savoured as a sensual memory that will last forever. I see mistakes made in the kitchen as valuable learning tools in the journey towards making good food.

As a recent graduate of Food Writing at Adelaide University, I am enthusiastically embarking upon my new life as a food writer, ready to follow my dreams of creating, discovering and eating (and writing about?) food and being able to share my experiences with as many people as possible.

I’m also a graduate of Food Science and Technology (another symptom of my food obsession) which gives me an excellent understanding and appreciation of the processes a food may go through before it ends up on our plate.
